Nuclear Throne is a top-down shooter that might remind you of Hotline Miami or even Binding of Isaac. Nuclear Throne's gameplay works very well with procedural level design and the sense of discovering something new every time I play is delightful. I'm a big fan of procedural level design because - when it's done well - it makes for near unlimited replayability. I'm a big I bought Nuclear Throne primarily because I had a great gaming experience with Vlambeer's Luftrausers, and I wasn't disappointed. The only real issue with the game is that it's the gaming worlds equivalent of crack cocaine. Still not ideal in my book but TBH you when playing you are so focused on the game you don't even notice the unused space. I have read about this and educated myself on resolution, and line of sight, and fairness across platforms and totally understand why Vambeer did not change it. ![]() Was a little disappointed they had not switched from 4:3 to widescreen format which leaves about 20% of the screen unused with border pattern options. Daily and weekly challenges a la Spelunky. Some special twin stick joy with this one.
